2009-10 marks the beginning of my 27th year as a teacher at David Lipscomb Campus School. I also serve as the pulpit minister for the Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. My wife Brenda and I have two sons, Aaron and Ryan.
This year I am teaching World Geography andHomiletics.
Homiletics is the study of the "art of preaching". It is a one semester class where young men prepare and give a series of mini sermons. We also work closely with the chorus to assist with their Sunday night performances.
World Geography is a love of mine as well as Bible. We will study the world by regions giving attention to customs, dress, and how the countries relate to current world events. There will be map studies, study sheets, periodic test as well as projects.
The first few weeks we will be dealing with introductory chapters 1-4 and then we will be studying the U.S. We will learn states and caps. along with many interesting features about each state. Students will be assigned two states and will prepare a report and a powerpoint presentation on each for the class.
